In the 12th minute, Walmir Breckenfeld got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Zoltán Varga took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Joaquin Gayoso to make any attempt to save it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Walmir Breckenfeld made the kick off in the second half. Walmir Breckenfeld struck a weak shot in the 55th minute.
