Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Gyál United's László Medgyesi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sándor Jászberényi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Gyál United's Balázs Jánosi got a free kick in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Gyál United's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Sándor Jászberényi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Róbert Tamás hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the match, Gyál United's goalkeeper Sándor Jászberényi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from László Medgyesi, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 33rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sándor Jászberényi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Balázs Berta kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sándor Jászberényi having to make a save. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Gyál United's István Juhász. But to his dismay, István Juhász quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. Balázs Berta charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Balázs Berta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sándor Jászberényi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Jose Correa was shown his second yellow card after 63 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Gyál United's Balázs Berta shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 65th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jonathan Ferrant but with some difficulty. When Balázs Berta was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 71 minutes had been played. In the 71st match minute, Gyál United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Balázs Berta to maneuver through the defense. Patricio Costa scored 2-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sándor Jászberényi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from László Medgyesi, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. A throw-in in the 84th minute of the game was made by Róbert Vajda with Lajos Détári as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Venezuela had played much better football throughout.
