Costa Rica made a substitution. Gerardo Montenegro replaced Aaron Alcocer. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 黄瑜锋 in the 62nd minute of play. The Costa Rica supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Costa Rica would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
