Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. With his leg Marcos Cotilla managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Clube dos pro's Elmar Bruch fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Léo de Souza hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 30th match minute, Clube dos pro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simão Messias to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Miguel Miralles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Panama booed when Clube dos pro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clube dos pro's Ricky Blake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 72nd minute of play. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iréné Reyna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricky Blake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 88th minute of play.
