With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luz Tejedor in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pankracy Zajonc saved MZ Fénix from getting behind. In the 9th minute of the match Joaquin Prats sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pankracy Zajonc skillfully saved the ball. Pankracy Zajonc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 10th minute of the match. A collision led to MZ Fénix getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Florin Dragușin hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the game, Cai Yuan Yuan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Cai Yuan Yuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Peru's Efraim Gilabert got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute Milagros Fraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Zajonc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pankracy Zajonc was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. A sloppy throw-in by Anthony Alvarado in the 38th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by MZ Fénix's Tomasz Waldoch. In the 47th minute, Tomasz Waldoch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cai Yuan Yuan to make the kick off. In the 78th minute, Julian Murillo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pankracy Zajonc. The goal made the score 1-2. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pankracy Zajonc was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Peru players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
