The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Lindner F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Matheus Munhoz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lindner F.C's Elliott Virgin got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matheus Munhoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 13th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Jeremias Salles notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matheus Munhoz having to interfere. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Alfonso in the 19th minute of play. Matheus Munhoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lindner F.C's Matheus Munhoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Bilal Sebuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Matheus Munhoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Charlie Alfonso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mito Geromel kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeremias Salles in the 35th minute. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matheus Munhoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Lautaro Mancebo made a precise shot to the right of Matheus Munhoz. Lindner F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 45th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matheus Munhoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 48 minutes, Victor Tepedino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lindner F.C and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeremias Salles was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Lindner F.C got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias Salles. In the 57th minute, Luca Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Matheus Munhoz. The goal made the score 2-2. In the 60th minute Jeremias Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Matheus Munhoz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 65 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Harald Keane came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 66 minutes of play, Lindner F.C's Elliott Virgin made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lindner F.C made a substitution. Dónald Trump replaced Charlie Alfonso. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Lindner F.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Alberto Tafalla advanced and headed the ball into goal, 3-3 in the 74th minute. In the 79th minute of the match, Facundo Cadaval got a very nice opportunity to score, but Matheus Munhoz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Matheus Munhoz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 82nd minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dónald Trump in the 90th minute of play. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gelu Roșeanu was slow to take the kick. During this time Lindner F.C's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Gelu Roșeanu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dante Lacasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 94th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Matheus Munhoz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Lindner F.C booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
