In the 31stth minute of the game Felix Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but YESHUA F.C's Ricardo Zamora was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. David Torres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The long shot by Primitivo Andino in the 91st minute really tested Ricardo Zamora's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The YESHUA F.C fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
