The audience thought a goal was coming when 倪泉真 got free with Thiago Pliego in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 27th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. 倪泉真's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Benicio Vigil lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Thiago Pliego. Francisco Carballar kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Benicio Vigil didn't quite understand what happened when in the 53 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but 倪扬晨 made a huge save. In the 58th minute, Konstanty Ratulowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80thth minute of the game Benicio Vigil who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mariano Lacasa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute Benicio Vigil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
