Pogoń Stawiszyn's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Lech Gmoch hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 5 minutes into the match, Kazimierz Dylla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kazimierz Dylla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the last second Jonathan Ferrant throw himself and got hold of the ball when Ryszard Pilipiec in the 19thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Kazimierz Dylla took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kazimierz Dylla in the 24th minute. Gilbert Podolski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 29th minute of play forced Pogoń Stawiszyn's goalkeeper Gilbert Podolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kazimierz Dylla in the 31st minute. 32 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kazimierz Dylla. In the 35th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Tomas Illescas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gilbert Podolski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Ryszard Pilipiec stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Ryszard Pilipiec tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kazimierz Dylla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Kazimierz Dylla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilbert Podolski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 54th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lech Gmoch kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Kazimierz Dylla made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 68 minutes into the match, Pogoń Stawiszyn's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Gilbert Podolski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Kazimierz Dylla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Lech Gmoch in the 85th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Gilbert Podolski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. With 95 minutes on the clock, Camilo Gaos commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Pogoń Stawiszyn's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
