An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos-Armando Valderrama in the 8th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwidon Patora in the 11th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwidon Patora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was a well-played corner which Alejandro Bullon managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Marcos Lama showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 34th minute of the match. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Lama saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from He Lin Di in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Veth Crystals's Alejandro Bullon got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 48th minute, Joel Gaona made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Lama. Veth Crystals's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After the first half Mexico were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. Marcos Lama made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. When Veth Crystals's Erik Persson in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mexico's goalie prevented a goal. In the 64th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Veth Crystals's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcos Lama quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ludomir Radzyminski, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Marcos Lama took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Marcos Lama tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gwidon Patora in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Veth Crystals's Alejandro Bullon got a free kick in the 86th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 90 minutes, Marcos Lama successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some careless play in the Veth Crystals defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Lama. The Veth Crystals fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Lama should have stopped the shot. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
