Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Blomqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edvard Hurtig during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lautaro Martines hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The Cohaerentia F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. John Boman replaced Pedrinho Pinho. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cohaerentia F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot.
