Kuzey FK's Hasan Ali Akatay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 9th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kutalp Hatemoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 19th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hasan Ali Akatay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cihan Kabil in the 21st minute of play. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Hasan Ali Akatay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Nedim Peyami, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Kuzey FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Recai Emek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esat Yalazabey hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After 33 played minutes Kuzey FK got a freekick which was hit by Kutalp Hatemoğlu.
