Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Honorio Emeterio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valentín Carvallo hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half Honduras were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Timoteo Mergildo made a kick off. Nestor Sayvion's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nestor Sayvion helped the player get up and apologised. After some careless play in the Buenos y Malos Ayres defense, Sebastian Villa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Honorio Emeterio. The Buenos y Malos Ayres fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Honorio Emeterio should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Piearres hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Villa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Honorio Emeterio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65th minute, Joel Endura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honorio Emeterio made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Sebastian Villa sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Honduras's Honorio Emeterio threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edmundo Espiga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with Honorio Emeterio in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 88th minute of play forced Buenos y Malos Ayres's goalkeeper Honorio Emeterio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Emanuel Ocampo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Ocampo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Timoteo Mergildo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eulalio Emeterio's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eulalio Emeterio helped the player get up and apologised. Edmundo Espiga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Honorio Emeterio. Buenos y Malos Ayres's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Buenos y Malos Ayres fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Honduras were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
