The corner led Portucale H5's Maximo Mikolas to fire away a dangerous shot which Marco Day despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Aníbal Barroso's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Marco Day skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximo Mikolas in the 23rd minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cassius Byrne scored 0-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of António Pimenta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. António Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Aníbal Barroso kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. António Pimenta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Estevão Antas took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Marco Day to make any attempt to save it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassius Byrne to make the kick off. Portucale H5 were furious when Marc-Aurèle Barde was red carded, 53 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 52 minutes into the game, one of Portucale H5:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamilton Espírito Santo in the 55th minute of play. Portucale H5's António Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 61st minute of play. Estevão Antas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. The supporters of Portucale H5 booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Brown didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jenson Smith hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. 83 minutes into the match, Portucale H5's goalkeeper António Pimenta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sam Campbell. Thanks to some nice moves Sam Campbell could shoot a difficult shot in the 91st minute, which António Pimenta however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, Portucale H5's Alexandre Albuquerque got a free kick in the 93rd minute. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. Alexandre Albuquerque hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, USA's Jenson Smith tried to score from far away in the 95th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The USA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing USA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
