In the 16th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Prats to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Hawley in the 17th minute of play. Luz Tejedor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sebastian Quirce read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. After 19 minutes Pan FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Luz Tejedor made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that Pan FC's Sebastian Quirce managed to reach the ball for a save. The attack was good, but when Moises Gayoso in the 20th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 许明卫 struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. A sloppy throw-in by Beltrán De Filippo in the 40th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Alonso Berganza. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efraim Gilabert during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 41 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Efraim Gilabert. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Peru's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
