Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) After 5 minutes Fc Otelul Galati's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Abraham Alguacil who took care of the corner kick. Nicodim Iacobeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florian Penc, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Alin Teodorescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Nicodim Iacobeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Isidoro Sarmiento notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Fc Otelul Galati's Nicodim Iacobeanu. Nicodim Iacobeanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Lars Schuster tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 38th minute of play forced Fc Otelul Galati's goalkeeper Nicodim Iacobeanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodim Iacobeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alin Teodorescu to make the kick off. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isidoro Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodim Iacobeanu having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Fc Otelul Galati's Alin Teodorescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcos Cotilla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nicodim Iacobeanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 70th minute of the match. Nicodim Iacobeanu came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Abraham Alguacil. But to his dismay, Abraham Alguacil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Sarmiento got free with Nicodim Iacobeanu in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Cambeiro to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Fc Otelul Galati booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Carita didn't get a good kick on the ball. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 97th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The Fc Otelul Galati fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Panama were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
