Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Cai Yue Guang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 8 played minutes Ninjas in Pyjamas got a freekick which was hit by Mihnea Iosub. After a defensive mix-up in Ninjas in Pyjamas's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cai Yue Guang came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Ninjas in Pyjamas getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Laurențiu Loghin hit a great ball. After 14 played minutes Ninjas in Pyjamas got a freekick which was hit by Mihnea Iosub. In the 17thth minute of the game Eric Păvăloae who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Păvăloae, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Păvăloae came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cai Yue Guang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agustín Saelices in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cai Yue Guang saved Ninjas in Pyjamas from getting behind. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ninjas in Pyjamas's goalie prevented a goal. When Ecuador's Felix Montenegro in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ninjas in Pyjamas's goalie prevented a goal. In the 31st minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Cai Yue Guang despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Felix Montes put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cai Yue Guang. 43 minutes into the match, Ninjas in Pyjamas's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Cai Yue Guang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Eric Păvăloae dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 2-1.

50 minutes into the game, Alexandru Negreanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ninjas in Pyjamas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Ninjas in Pyjamas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandru Negreanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Eric Păvăloae managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ninjas in Pyjamas's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Păvăloae was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Păvăloae in the 55th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Ninjas in Pyjamas's Eric Păvăloae sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cai Yue Guang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Eric Păvăloae kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Păvăloae in the 74th minute of the match. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
