An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Bernat in the 7th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Thiago Pliego managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Ernesto Guevara SyD's Pascual Bernat fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Chile's goalie and right to Aquiles Mikolas. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Chile's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 16th minute of play forced Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute, Orlando Casaus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto Almada in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute of the match Ernesto Guevara SyD got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marcos Tirso ran over to the corner to take the kick. 22 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enzo Rodriguez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pascual Bernat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Pascual Bernat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ernesto Guevara SyD's supporters rose to their feet, but Pascual Bernat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Pliego breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 34 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Almada came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ernesto Guevara SyD's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enzo Rodriguez came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Beto Almada came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Ernesto Guevara SyD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beto Almada couldn't finish the play. Orlando Casaus kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ernesto Guevara SyD's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enzo Rodriguez came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
In the 51st minute, one of Ernesto Guevara SyD:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ernesto Guevara SyD. Mariano Lacasa managed to, on his own, get straight through Ernesto Guevara SyD's defense and in the 53rd minute placed the ball to the left of Enzo Rodriguez. 0-1. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Enzo Rodriguez made a huge save. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enzo Rodriguez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. After 69 minutes Ernesto Guevara SyD's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariano Lacasa who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Chile's Guillermo Fontirroig to fire away a dangerous shot which Enzo Rodriguez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Chile were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Ernesto Guevara SyD's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Xavier Figueroa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Enzo Rodriguez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Ernesto Guevara SyD booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Carballar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lionel Richie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernesto Guevara SyD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marcos Tirso in the 83rd minute. After 84 minutes, Lionel Richie made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Chile's Thiago Pliego tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Enzo Rodriguez made a huge save. 91 minutes into the match, Lionel Richie notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Chile's Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Enzo Rodriguez made a huge save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chile players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ernesto Guevara SyD.
