Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Carlos Santana started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cafu Ringaa in the 7th minute of play. Ronaldo Giovanelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 8th minute of the match. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Giovanelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 13th minute of play. If Carlos Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Santana in the 14th minute. Ronaldo Giovanelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milagros Fraga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Galo do Japi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Emmanuel Reyes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ronaldo Giovanelli quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Carlos Santana took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rolando Noboa to make any attempt to save it. Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Giovanelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 26th minute of play. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldo Giovanelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 32nd minute of play. If Paulo Renato Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 42nd minute. Ronaldo Giovanelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Cafu Ringaa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Cafu Ringaa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Ronaldo Giovanelli in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Santana in the 65th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Peru's Ronaldo Giovanelli threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Mina, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 68th minute. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Peru's Ronaldo Giovanelli threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Mina, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 75 minutes Galo do Japi's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. After 78 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Zeca Caca-Rato. Luz Tejedor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Ronaldo Giovanelli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Rafael Gallo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronaldo Giovanelli having to make a save. 94 minutes into the game, Peru's Antonio Tenorio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronaldo Giovanelli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Peru were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
