In the 10th minute, Homero Thomson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The TZILACATZIN fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Homero Thomson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Homero Thomson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moises Fernandino came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edinho Lira could save by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Moises Fernandino kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edinho Lira. That made the score 2-1 in the 21 minute of play. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by TZILACATZIN's Daniel Cabrera. But to his dismay, Daniel Cabrera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abram Luque during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Abram Luque. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Cabrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Daniel Cabrera notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 37 minutes of play, TZILACATZIN's Homero Thomson made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! 41 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Cabrera came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Homero Thomson hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Homero Thomson in the 48th minute of play. The El Salvador players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. TZILACATZIN were winning 2-5.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moises Fernandino was the one to do the kick off. Marco Tamayo kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Jorge Magrina's late challenge caught a TZILACATZIN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Daniel Cabrera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. 81 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Homero Thomson. In the 87th minute, Homero Thomson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-7. After 97 minutes, Javier Chico mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TZILACATZIN and the El Salvador players grew even worse after the yellow card.
