The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Montenegro got free with Sergio Rochet in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind The dogs's goalkeeper Sergio Rochet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Colombia's Axel Montenegro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sergio Rochet. That made the score 2-3 after 56 minutes of play. If Helge Pihlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roberto-Carlos Giampietri made in the 65th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colombia's Antonio Indiano. Helge Pihlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Sergio Rochet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pascual Carballar in the 68th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anacleto Gaizkine in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Manzanares saved Colombia from getting behind. In the 72nd minute, Costică Mușetescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anacleto Gaizkine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The dogs's Sergio Rochet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 76th minute of play. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anacleto Gaizkine in the 79th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Abram Secada got a free kick in the 98th minute. The dogs's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
