Hudson Gaúcho came out of the goal and Eliseo Mina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hudson Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 6th minute of play. Austra 04 VFC's Hudson Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 15th minute of play. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hudson Gaúcho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute Austra 04 VFC were awarded a corner. Sócrates Silva went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Austra 04 VFC's goalkeeper Hudson Gaúcho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Austra 04 VFC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Raúl Perez hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Austra 04 VFC's Rolando Noboa threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wellington Pires, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Hudson Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 30th minute of play. Eliseo Mina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Hudson Gaúcho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hudson Gaúcho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Austra 04 VFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Emmanuel Reyes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Austra 04 VFC's Hudson Gaúcho did a great save. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wellington Pires in the 41st minute of the match. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Beila Mora tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hudson Gaúcho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Peru booed when Austra 04 VFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beila Mora didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Peru's Anthony Alvarado got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Beila Mora took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wellington Pires in the 61st minute of play. With a little luck, Austra 04 VFC's Hudson Gaúcho got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes in the game Raúl Perez did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Ivar Dalman. In the 78th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Joaquin Prats almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Austra 04 VFC's Hudson Gaúcho did a great save. 80 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hudson Gaúcho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafael Gallo in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hudson Gaúcho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Austra 04 VFC's Ahmet Erdem Zekai got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Austra 04 VFC's goalkeeper Hudson Gaúcho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hudson Gaúcho didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 96th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Peru played a much better game than Austra 04 VFC and deserved their victory. The Austra 04 VFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
