Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Gasteiz in the 6th minute of play. Moises Fernandino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Guaberto Isaio made a huge save. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Valentino Ferrant hit a great ball. The supporters of Los Laguneros de AT booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tuta Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 24 minutes into the game, Los Laguneros de AT's Tuta Torres nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Los Laguneros de AT's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tota Fabri in the 28th minute. Tota Fabri made a great header on Los Laguneros de AT's corner, it was just that El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 30th minute, Desiderio Frederik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Desiderio Frederik hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, El Salvador's Mateo Leguizamo tried to score from far away in the 36th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Arnaldo Dalmu came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Los Laguneros de AT fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Dalmu couldn't finish the play. Tuta Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tota Fabri in the 47 minute of the game. After the first half Los Laguneros de AT were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moises Fernandino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Moises Fernandino made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Los Laguneros de AT's Guaberto Isaio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 58 minutes into the game, Los Laguneros de AT's Arnaldo Dalmu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 62nd minute, Tuta Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guaberto Isaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abram Luque took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guaberto Isaio. Guaberto Isaio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Los Laguneros de AT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Mouzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 83rd minute of the match Desiderio Frederik completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Desiderio Frederik a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 84th match minute, Los Laguneros de AT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desiderio Frederik to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnaldo Dalmu during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
