Basilio Casomiro's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basilio Casomiro helped the player get up and apologised. Basilio Casomiro kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the All Boys defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauro Montay. The All Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauro Montay should have stopped the shot. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Andino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mauro Montay having to make a save. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mauro Montay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Mauro Montay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mauro Montay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of play. Mauro Montay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 25th minute of play. Mauro Montay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 30th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodosio Viator in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, All Boys's Silvio Llin got a free kick in the 35th minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after All Boys's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A very nice done corner allowed Felix Montes to score against Mauro Montay in All Boys's goal. 0-3 after 39 minutes. After a rather tough play, All Boys's Filomeno Maule got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mauro Montay narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Braulio Azevedo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The All Boys players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-3.

All Boys's Mauro Montay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 56th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Mauro Montay in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind All Boys's goalkeeper Mauro Montay, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 70th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Montay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All Boys's Mauro Montay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save All Boys from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by All Boys's Serafin Toribio. But to his dismay, Serafin Toribio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Mauro Montay made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 80th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Montay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All Boys made a substitution. Luis Veto replaced Nereo Pedroso. In the 83rd match minute, All Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Maule to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. All Boys's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mauro Montay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 88th minute. After 92 played minutes All Boys got a freekick which was hit by Serafin Toribio. In the 95th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauro Montay was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Ecuador played a much better game than All Boys and deserved their victory. The All Boys players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
