Eric Gary showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to Jagiellonia Denver getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Per-Olof Åkesson hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Eric Gary tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eric Gary. Eric Gary dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 36th minute, Michal Majdoch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play forced Jagiellonia Denver's goalkeeper Eric Gary to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Gary having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Jagiellonia Denver was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Olof Åkesson to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Eric Gary - 0-4 was put on the score board in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cacá Čačak was the one to do the kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cacá Čačak in the 53rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 55th minute of play forced Jagiellonia Denver's goalkeeper Eric Gary to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Jagiellonia Denver's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Eric Gary despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eric Gary showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric Gary read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Eric Gary stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 77th minute.
