Roman Matai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Artaç Hendekli kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Gustaw Bendyk kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Roman Matai dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Arkadiusz Solecki hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when STAL ST WOLA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Çağlar Soyuncu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Roman Matai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off.
