In the 6th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hannes Schmielau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hannes Schmielau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Pabing SV's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Hannes Schmielau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 44th minute, Robin-Pascal Schäben hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeremiah St. Juste received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
