Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Alcalde in the 14th minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Benedicto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albert Alcalde in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 46 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Sheldon Cooper came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sheldon Cooper to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Filomeno Benedicto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SISTRELLS players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
