But to his dismay, József Sallói quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Edmundo Espiga kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 9thth minute of the game József Sallói who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that József Sallói's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zakariás Tótfalusi in the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th minute of the match Bálint Battai shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lautaro Navarro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Szentgotthárd booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Ocampo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Konstanty Dzierwa, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Adorján Angyal made in the 38th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Honduras's Christian Sancho. If Zakariás Tótfalusi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as József Sallói kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lautaro Navarro. That made the score 0-8 in the 75 minute of play. József Sallói received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Szentgotthárd's Kornél Hajdú played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 80th minute of play. Konstanty Dzierwa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Lautaro Navarro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 85 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Villa. In the 95th minute, Zakariás Tótfalusi made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-9. Szentgotthárd's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
