With a little luck, C A U's Feliberto Gonsalvo got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francisco Seco made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucas Barcelos. 58 minutes into the match, C A U's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Feliberto Gonsalvo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Feliberto Gonsalvo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Uruguay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaime Cazalla in the 77th minute. Jorge Sainz made in the 79th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Camilo Franco. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Barcelos in the 84th minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucas Barcelos's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. The throw-in from Enrique Hrabina in the 92nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Uruguay lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
