Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johan Kiewit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leandro Munio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 7th minute of the match. After 13 played minutes Bermejo Club got a freekick which was hit by Basilio Beltxe. Monty Rogers scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leandro Munio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 18 minutes, Monty Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Monty Rogers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 21st minute of play forced Bermejo Club's goalkeeper Leandro Munio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Diego Bradley in the 24th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Bermejo Club's Feliberto Tauro. In the 25th minute Johan Kiewit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johan Kiewit in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. USA's Cassius Byrne got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Cassius Byrne left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The USA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Kiewit in the 47th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cassius Byrne was the one to do the kick off. Bermejo Club's Leandro Munio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Bermejo Club from getting a goal against them. 53 minutes into the match, Bermejo Club's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Leandro Munio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bermejo Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave USA the free kick. The supporters of USA booed when Bermejo Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. King Nanuk didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Bermejo Club getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. King Nanuk hit a great ball.
