When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Felix Donciu. 9 minutes into the match, Werneck FC - DMZ's Emilio Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Donciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Donciu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Werneck FC - DMZ's Emilio Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emilio Machado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Donciu having to interfere. Emilio Machado scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of play forced Werneck FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Felix Donciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35thth minute of the game Emilio Machado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 40 minutes Werneck FC - DMZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Felix Donciu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Emilio Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Emilio Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 59 minutes into the match, Werneck FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Felix Donciu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Donciu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 70 minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Kiszkiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Donciu having to interfere. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Zé Paulo Luz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Werneck FC - DMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Felix Donciu in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Werneck FC - DMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
