With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Francisco Ibañez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Firmin Négrel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Firmin Négrel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. ANAHA FC's Djibril Herbaut got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 14 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Firmin Négrel was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Firmin Négrel was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. 22 minutes into the match, ANAHA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Firmin Négrel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cayetano Ponc kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of ANAHA FC's Firmin Négrel. Firmin Négrel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 48 minutes into the match, Tanek Walczyk dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 1-3. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Francisco Ibañez made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Francisco Ibañez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ANAHA FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Ibañez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Firmin Négrel in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When ANAHA FC's Francisco Ibañez in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. ANAHA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tanek Walczyk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, ANAHA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Firmin Négrel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of ANAHA FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dudu Georgescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Firmin Négrel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Tanek Walczyk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Tanek Walczyk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Georgescu in the 88th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tanek Walczyk, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tanek Walczyk came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Firmin Négrel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Ludovic Guillois had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ludovic Guillois was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3.
