The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. 6 minutes into the match, Vissefjärda IF's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Ulrik Granqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 11 minutes, Camilo Gisbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Vissefjärda IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 13th minute of the match Vissefjärda IF got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Walery Teofila ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in 龙雄鹏 almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 15th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulrik Granqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michael Fridlund who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulrik Granqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Tunander during the 20th minute. Vissefjärda IF:s Ulrik Granqvist showed great skill when he stopped Daniel Zorita:s penalty. Ulrik Granqvist came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Ulrik Granqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. Michael Fridlund received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Michael Fridlund slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 28th minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Luis Andino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ulrik Granqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Michael Fridlund in the 44th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Michael Fridlund to make the kick off. After 56 played minutes Vissefjärda IF got a freekick which was hit by Henry Hurtig. Primitivo Andino's late challenge caught a Vissefjärda IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Primitivo Andino helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th minute, Michael Fridlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, Vissefjärda IF's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Ulrik Granqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulrik Granqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. In the 90th minute, Michael Fridlund made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. During the 92nd minute of the match André Tunander completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave André Tunander a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. André Tunander kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
