The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lorenzo Cazalla during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla got a free kick in the 2nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 11th minute of play forced Vykans Vikingar's goalkeeper Marcus Ekrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Ekrot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After 25 played minutes Vykans Vikingar got a freekick which was hit by Mats Hermansson. Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 27th minute of play. Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 33rd minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Vykans Vikingar's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Marcus Ekrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tage Glanselius kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcus Ekrot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. In the 51st play minute Lautaro Mancebo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Marcus Ekrot. 1-2. 54 minutes into the match, Martin Mutumba had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Mutumba was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Marcus Ekrot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Vykans Vikingar from getting a goal against them. In the 60th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Ekrot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcus Ekrot was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bengt-Arne Haglund replaced Martin Mutumba. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vykans Vikingar's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcus Ekrot quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marcus Ekrot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 81st minute. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcus Ekrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 86th minute of the match. When Vykans Vikingar's Leonardo Trancoso in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mexico players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vykans Vikingar.
