Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Julian Murillo started the match with the kick off. In the 9th minute, Julian Murillo made a precise shot to the right of Jeremy Avellana. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Samuel Vegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeremy Avellana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 21st minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Luz Tejedor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jeremy Avellana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremy Avellana having to interfere. When Gasteiz Latorre came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Club Dep. Soc. Rodo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gasteiz Latorre couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute of the game Emmanuel Reyes made a throw-in which Luz Tejedor played forward. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gasteiz Latorre got free with Rolando Noboa in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Peru were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gasteiz Latorre stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Jeremy Avellana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Club Dep. Soc. Rodo from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Jeremy Avellana got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eliseo Mina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Jeremy Avellana made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Gasteiz Latorre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Gasteiz Latorre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo made a substitution. Anthon Öberg replaced Gasteiz Latorre. When Anthon Öberg fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's protests and gave Anthon Öberg a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 played minutes Club Dep. Soc. Rodo got a freekick which was hit by Anthon Öberg. 77 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Jeremy Avellana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. 82 minutes into the game, Justino Bastian threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jeremy Avellana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Jeremy Avellana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Tenorio in the 89th minute of play. Anthon Öberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Anthon Öberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. 95 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeremy Avellana narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
