With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Octavio Gaitan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paulino Inko charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulino Inko the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Octavio Gaitan sent off a good shot on target. After 28 played minutes Condarco got a freekick which was hit by Cesar Euloxu. 28 minutes into the match, Condarco's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Maximiliano Lleir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maximiliano Lleir breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Jonas Bero came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Condarco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonas Bero couldn't finish the play. Guillermo Mariano's late challenge caught a Condarco's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guillermo Mariano helped the player get up and apologised. Condarco's Patric Kluivert shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 40th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jonathan Ferrant but with some difficulty. A throw-in in the 42nd minute of the game was made by Paulino Inko with Patric Kluivert as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 45 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Octavio Gaitan was the one to do the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavio Gaitan in the 53rd minute of play. Condarco made a substitution. Esteban Perrando replaced Patric Kluivert. Jonas Bero scored 2-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Condarco booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Condarco.
