Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. S.C.PAULISTA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Gerrit Cronen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonidas Orange. After 35 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jorge Neto who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Vivaldo Campidelis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. S.C.PAULISTA's Gerrit Cronen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play. César Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. César Eger was the one to do the kick off. Gerrit Cronen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Felix Montes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 51 minute of play. Leonidas Orange received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute, S.C.PAULISTA's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 61 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute, Jorge Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Gerrit Cronen in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. S.C.PAULISTA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ecuador's Luis Andino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gerrit Cronen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 69th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gerrit Cronen. Gerrit Cronen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Gerrit Cronen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Gerrit Cronen however easily saved by the left post. Gerrit Cronen was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. S.C.PAULISTA's Jorge Neto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 87 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gerrit Cronen. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Gerrit Cronen threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gerrit Cronen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 91st minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonidas Orange, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than S.C.PAULISTA.
