In the 8th minute, Luiz Fernando de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lisandro Beltxe hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the match, Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso's goal looked a bit too open when Zeng Xu Yuan came free, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Lisandro Beltxe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gernando Pernambucano in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Maria Goiano saved Poetass FC from getting behind. José Maria Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Beltxe in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute Jon-Egil Schjelderup shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute of the match Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso got a corner. Poetass FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Åke Hellström ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lisandro Beltxe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. José Maria Goiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Gernando Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lisandro Beltxe in the 31st minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper José Maria Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso's Karl Martin Bell Burnell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Witalis Brysz in the 62nd minute of play. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso! In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Poetass FC's goalkeeper José Maria Goiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 71st minute Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso were awarded a corner. Åke Hellström went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso's corner Alonzo Ilixo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and José Maria Goiano quite easily take care of the ball. Poetass FC's José Maria Goiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Poetass FC from getting a goal against them. Gernando Pernambucano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of José Maria Goiano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso's Gernando Pernambucano got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Liga Esporte Paulo Afonso made a substitution. Tony Domingues replaced Armandinho de Andrade. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Poetass FC's goalkeeper José Maria Goiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner ended in Åke Hellström almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Poetass FC's José Maria Goiano did a great save. Karl Martin Bell Burnell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeng Xu Yuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Åke Hellström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Maria Goiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
