Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miguel Transito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the match, Santa Maradona's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Jonathan Errapel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th match minute, Santa Maradona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corneliu Văcăroiu to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Cordeiro in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Santa Maradona's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Jonathan Errapel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodolfo Cordeiro in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Cordeiro in the 29th minute of play. Santa Maradona's Jonathan Errapel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of play. Miguel Transito struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santa Maradona. Jonathan Errapel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of the match. Rodolfo Cordeiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Rodolfo Cordeiro slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 41st minute. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Rodolfo Cordeiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 4-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Miguel Transito made the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jonathan Errapel could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 52nd minute of play forced Santa Maradona's goalkeeper Jonathan Errapel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Errapel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Errapel having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! 5-0 came in the 68th minute when Rodolfo Cordeiro all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Laureano Sustrai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 72 played minutes Santa Maradona got a freekick which was hit by Laureano Sustrai. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Errapel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Jonathan Errapel in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Errapel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 78th minute. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Cristian Sancho took a quick shot and it went in 5-1 without a chance for Jonathan Errapel to make any attempt to save it. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Santa Maradona's goalkeeper Jonathan Errapel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. 88 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Cordeiro came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Transito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gervasio Garcia charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gervasio Garcia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th match minute, Santa Maradona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gervasio Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere.
