The supporters of Honduras booed when Expendables was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cezary Rykaczewski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Espiga, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zygmunt Logewnik in the 25th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wasyl Basaik stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Waclaw Przybylo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Slawomir Cisek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Villa in the 78th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wasyl Basaik in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. In the 83rd minute Expendables were awarded a corner. Marcin Wos went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Expendables's corner Jacek Skonieczny fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lautaro Navarro quite easily take care of the ball. Lautaro Navarro made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Cezary Rykaczewski sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd match minute, Expendables was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugeniusz Kazczyk to maneuver through the defense. Jacek Skonieczny's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacek Skonieczny helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes Expendables got a freekick which was hit by Jacek Skonieczny. After 95 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Cabal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Expendables eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
