Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Francisco Seco took the kick off in the first half of the match. Shayne Cagle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Waterbury Rangers were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ryan Esparza took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Ryan Esparza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joaquin Gayoso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shayne Cagle got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Cordero in the 17th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kevin Carballal charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute, Shayne Cagle left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Waterbury Rangers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 46th minute, Shayne Cagle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Shayne Cagle to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Alberto Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Cordero in the 60th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Camilo Covarrubias got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Rodolfo Cordero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Rodolfo Cordero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd minute Shayne Cagle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Waterbury Rangers getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Werner Comer hit a great ball. Waterbury Rangers's Truman Haines was substituted for Alfonso Buck. 83 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Shayne Cagle came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Uruguay players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Waterbury Rangers.
