The audience was convinced that Wilton Vale's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phenix Wright was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilton Vale in the 41st minute of play forced Rojals's goalkeeper Phenix Wright to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Phenix Wright dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Rojals made a substitution. TAQUARI FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilton Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phenix Wright showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilton Vale in the 96th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. TAQUARI FC had won after a very even match.
