Donato Guerra's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donato Guerra helped the player get up and apologised. Donato Guerra kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Amílton Sá stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Taquaral Campineiro's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Edmundo Espiga scored to the left of an out of position Amílton Sá, making the score, 1-1. Honduras's attentive Christian Sancho managed to snatch the ball when Walmir Bezerra made a throw-in in the 15th minute of the game. Geraldo de Godoi hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Moises Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Amílton Sá didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. After a rather tough play, Taquaral Campineiro's Giovani Teixeira got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 25th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Ocampo to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo de Godoi in the 30th minute of play. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 34 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Cabal. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Amílton Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Taquaral Campineiro's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Espiga was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Villa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílton Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 52nd minute of play forced Taquaral Campineiro's goalkeeper Amílton Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Taquaral Campineiro's zone, Edmundo Espiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílton Sá came out of the goal and Edmundo Espiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmundo Espiga scored 3-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amílton Sá, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amílton Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 65th minute of play forced Taquaral Campineiro's goalkeeper Amílton Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th match minute, Taquaral Campineiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. Moises Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute of the match Luca Espinar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amílton Sá skillfully saved the ball. In the 75thth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taquaral Campineiro's Amílton Sá was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amílton Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 80 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th minute, Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amílton Sá came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Edmundo Espiga. But to his dismay, Edmundo Espiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Honduras walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
