Pedro Manzanares was a little too slow when Alessio Zoccali got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 8th minute Alessio Zoccali shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Colombia's Axel Montenegro in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye A.S. Udinese's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Axel Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alvaro Rotili was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alessio Zoccali in the 14th minute. If Alessio Zoccali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Alessio Zoccali sent off a good shot on target. Colombia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Alessio Zoccali scored to the left of an out of position Pedro Manzanares, making the score, 4-2. In a very dangerous position, a player in Colombia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 46th minute. Penalty! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Udinese's Tom Pervik got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Fortunato Angelucci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Ercole Fiorentino replaced Alexander Bottone. Udinese:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Augusto Clemente struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Pedro Manzanares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.S. Udinese. After 78 minutes of play, A.S. Udinese's Ercole Fiorentino made it 6-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 80th minute Kevin Mastache suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Colombia's Israel Elvira was substituted for Kevin Mastache. In the 81st match minute, A.S. Udinese was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corrado Falasca to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the match, Alberigo Di Franco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberigo Di Franco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-3. Corrado Falasca kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ercole Fiorentino, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Ercole Fiorentino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Augusto Clemente scored 9-3 in the 99th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The A.S. Udinese fans cheered their team off the field, for while Colombia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
