Hermelando Rey came out of the goal and Mario Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eduardo Fontirroig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan-Alfredo Vuelta struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Camilo Freixa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Kiwy Mecanico. Alfredo Ferrant's late challenge caught a El Kiwy Mecanico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bolivia's Alfredo Ferrant got a free kick in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Juan-Alfredo Vuelta made the kick off in the second half. Eduardo Fontirroig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermelando Rey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Julio Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Otero Moreno in the 57th minute really tested Camilo Freixa's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Julio Chicote fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermelando Rey having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Alfredo Ferrant had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hermelando Rey. El Kiwy Mecanico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredo Ferrant was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Hermelando Rey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Fernandino in the 74th minute of play. Juan-Alfredo Vuelta took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Freixa. Camilo Freixa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Hermelando Rey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Ferrant, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Alfredo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Alfredo Ferrant was shown his second yellow card after 83 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. After having played for 87 minutes, Eduardo Fontirroig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Fontirroig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 95 played minutes El Kiwy Mecanico got a freekick which was hit by Lazaro Clos.
