Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Kielstedt in the 39th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Hogans Heroes's Sven-Oskar Åhman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Primitivo Andino during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 81 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Kielstedt came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emil Wahlström acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 87th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cristian Sancho.
