In the 13th match minute, Clube Audax Metropolitano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wágner da Costa to maneuver through the defense. After 13 played minutes, Haiti's Jonathan Alphonse shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fernando Donatello came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Haiti reached it. A throw-in in the 15th minute of the game was made by Rodney Emmanuel with Jonathan Alphonse as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Carlos Alberto Parreira kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Haiti's Rodney Emmanuel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Wiliam Martins in the 25 minute of the game. Wágner da Costa made in the 27th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Haiti's Jean Marie Alcius. In the 29th minute Alix Vance shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Seide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Carlos Alberto Parreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clube Audax Metropolitano's Hugo Calderona was substituted for Miguel Fontes. A collision led to Clube Audax Metropolitano getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Carlos Alberto Parreira hit a great ball. Jonathan Alphonse was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 34th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Jonathan Alphonse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredão Loyola made in the 39th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Zeca Siqueira. A collision led to Haiti getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Jonathan Alphonse hit a great ball. Haiti's Noel Seide played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alix Vance in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Calderona in the 42nd minute of play forced Haiti's goalkeeper Noel Seide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zeca Siqueira scored 0-2 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Noel Seide, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alix Vance was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Jonathan Alphonse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noel Seide took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Calderona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Noel Seide made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugo Calderona in the 58th minute. Haiti's Noel Seide proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Haiti from getting a goal against them. In the 61st match minute, Haiti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernso Constant to maneuver through the defense. When Alfredão Loyola fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Audax Metropolitano's protests and gave Alfredão Loyola a yellow card for diving instead. In the 64th minute, Alfredão Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 66 minutes into the match, Haiti's goalkeeper Noel Seide had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Calderona. Noel Seide showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Siqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 71st minute of the match, Hugo Calderona got a very nice opportunity to score, but Noel Seide was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 79 minutes into the match, Hugo Calderona dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Noel Seide, 0-5. In the 85th match minute, Clube Audax Metropolitano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wiliam Martins to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the match, Haiti's goal looked a bit too open when Zeca Siqueira came free, but Noel Seide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute of the match Clube Audax Metropolitano got a corner. Haiti's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredão Loyola ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Haiti's goalie and right to Wágner da Costa. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Haiti's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Gerber during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Clube Audax Metropolitano's Juan Gerber got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When the final whistle sounded Clube Audax Metropolitano left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Haiti.
