But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute of the match Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Semih Eğriöz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Turabi Altınpınar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Turabi Altınpınar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 27 played minutes Luton Town got a freekick which was hit by Tosh Fordham. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tosh Fordham scored 0-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Luton Town's goalkeeper Semih Eğriöz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. The Luton Town fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Luton Town's Turabi Altınpınar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Turabi Altınpınar in the 40th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shane Lamb during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Turabi Altınpınar in the 46th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Turabi Altınpınar went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Turabi Altınpınar was the one to do the kick off. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justs Braslavecs in the 51st minute of play. Turabi Altınpınar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 55th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 59thth minute, when Luton Town's Turabi Altınpınar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Turabi Altınpınars short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 62 minutes into the game, Toader Encuțoiu threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. With an all-out effort, Luton Town's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Justs Braslavecs, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice moves Shane Lamb could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. Luton Town's Semih Eğriöz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 67th minute of play. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Semih Eğriöz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Luton Town's Tommy Scrivener was substituted for Shane Lamb. After a rather tough play, Luton Town's Toader Encuțoiu got a free kick in the 78th minute. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Semih Eğriöz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Tomas Illescas sped through Luton Town's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Semih Eğriöz. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Semih Eğriöz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela.
