Chile's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Juan Rodriguez scored to the left of an out of position Thiago Pliego, making the score, 2-0. Mariano Lacasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Slawomir Michalski having to interfere. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Bert Justens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego.
